Twisted Wave audio recording and editing software for MacOS (and now Windows!) is my go-to recording app for all things voiceover. Update: Twisted Wave for Windows is now Live!
Last year, Thomas Thiriez, the developer of Twisted Wave announced he was building out a Windows OS version of Twisted Wave. After extensive beta testing, it is now available. As with Twisted Wave from the very beginning, you can download a fully functional version and use it for 30 days. Twisted Wave for Windows is ASIO-compliant, and fully supports VST plug-ins. More info can be found on the Twisted Wave site.
Twisted Wave License / Subscription is Cross-Platform
Thomas has always been very generous in terms of licensing Twisted Wave. It has always included all of your personal computers – so if you jump between laptop and desktop machines, you can have immediate access to your licensed copy of Twisted Wave – perfect to have a travel or backup rig!
This is also the case If you own both a Windows and MacOS machine. The same license will cover installs on both. I confirmed this with Thomas via email.
Official answer from Thomas (8/23):
“There is actually no difference between the macOS and Windows versions of TwistedWave wrt licensing. That means that if you got a subscription, you can use it on a Mac, on Windows, or on both a Mac and a Windows machine for the same price.
If you don’t have a subscription, but have purchased after June 15th, 2022, you can use TwistedWave 29, and can also use your license key on a Windows computer.”
